The Orpington History

Organisation - ‘OHO’

Introduction

The Orpington History Organisation (OHO) was set up by likeminded local historians in 2006 to provide a local history resource for Orpington and environs. The subsequent success has been extraordinary. With nearly 4000 enthusiasts following online there is also a very real part of the OHO. Exhibitions, Festivals and many talks have also been attended and given over the years.

OHO - Orpington and District

Now part of the London Borough of Bromley, Orpington was once the centre of a thriving urban district which included itself, a market town, St Mary Cray and several important parish’s and villages; Chelsfield, Green St Green, Farnborough, St Pauls Cray, Pratts Bottom etc. The former urban district constitutes the boundaries and interests of the OHO.

This is core to the OHO. There are over 4000 images in the collection which have been collected, categorised and most made available online for people to use.
